Big picture

KMD Kids Tribe

First member of the KMD Kids Tribe, Peter, receives his first patch after completing the 1 mile ruck. What a proud moment for them both. If you’re looking for something you could do together with your kids, read cool books, spend time outdoors, train, this is something to look into. Just last week another one of the KMD Young Warriors, Akshaj, had joined in.

This is not a KMD program but we recommend it as we’ve been working with GoRuck since 2013 and they are solid. Click the link below for more info.

Good training shoes for Krav Maga?

I have been asked what type of shoes are good for Krav Maga training. A great shoe has a smooth sole and good ankle support for all the hours your spend on your feet. Wrestling shoes work perfect for this! They meet the requirements for good support and won’t “grab” the mats which shoes with a lot of tread will. See you on the training floor! Lisa

A Different Type of Challenge

I Think, Therefore I am

- Descartes

We have attempted different challenges over the years. Most are physical mixed with some mental determination and heart. This next challenge I am proposing is all mental.

We spend so much time with work, school, training, social activities…. You know, LIFE. This challenge is to set aside distractions and allow yourself to think.

For 1 hour, just sit with your thoughts.

- no electronics (TV, Phone, Games … etc)

- No reading

- No sleeping

- No distractions of any kind

Turn the lights low (if not completely dark) and sit with your thoughts. Whatever they are just allow yourself to let your mind wander. It doesn’t matter what you are thinking, the idea is to practice mindfulness and not run away from your thoughts.

This is you, learn to live with you.

If an hour is too difficult start with 10 minutes and work your way up… the challenge is 1 hour can you do it?

“It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, the stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion."
