Let’s face it. Historically and statistically speaking, women have always been targets and victims of violent crimes. Whether domestic or public – crimes against women happen every day. Scientifically speaking, women do not have the pre-destined strength and size genetics gives to males, and therefore are unfortunately considered easier targets.
Well, I’m not here to challenge science – but I am here to change statistics. While women may continue to be the TARGETS of violent crimes, they do NOT have to be VICTIMS. The threat is real. Michigan is ranked number 2 in the nation for human trafficking. SELF-PROTECTION is necessary in the world we live in today.
I became a Krav Maga instructor to pursue my dedication to Krav Maga, and to have the honor and opportunity to teach all others this self-defense system. I quickly discovered however, that my passion included spreading the mindset and skills of Krav especially to women. Knowing the truth about statistics and being a woman myself – I had always wanted to know how to defend myself. I now know the skills and mind set necessary to do just that, and I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to teach these to as many women as I can.
I feel truly blessed and honored to work alongside my other female instructors, Sheila, Maddie, and Lisa, to provide bi-annual Women’s Self-Protection Seminars that amass significant crowds of women willing and excited to take their personal safety into their own hands. Our fantastic team of women is supported and aided each event by our amazing owner, Pawel, along with many of our amazing male instructors who are just as passionate about keeping women safe as we are! To them and everyone who has supported us in the past and continue to support us in the future – we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will continue to provide these seminars, because we are passionate about women’s safety, and we HAVE to continue to do our part!
I AM NOT A VICTIM. NOT ME. NOT TODAY. NOT EVER.
